The Kansas Study

A watershed Comparative Study led by Professor Paul Mathews* was conducted at Kansas University, Department of Respiratory Education. 

The study compared the ability of traditional Bag Valve Mask (BVM) Resuscitators to deliver repeatable volumes in compliance with International Standard and America Heart Association requirements, relative to RE-START™, the Intuitive First Response Linear Resuscitator. Unlike traditional Bag Valve Mask Resuscitators the study results conclusively underscored the ability of RE-START™
to accurately deliver consistent volumes with significantly less operator fatigue.

* Professor Mathews is a Past President of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC), a Project HOPE International Fellow, Fellow of the College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM).The American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and has served as a consultant to the FDA, USPHS, SUNY-Stony Brook, the government of Costa Rica, and the Mexican Respiratory Care Association. 

Professor Mathews has published numerous papers, essays, and columns in the professional literature, several books and book chapters, and has presented papers at many national and international professional meetings.
